Proper intercompany pricing is a difficult and generally unfamiliar
exercise for most companies. The exercise requires the blending
of three disciplines: economics, accounting, and law. Blending
these disciplines within a given company is a difficult task.
Adding the political factor that pricing often represents-frequently,
intercompany pricing discussions involve a subtle power struggle-one
begins to suspect that most companies have difficulty properly
pricing their products when sold between or amongst related parties.
Additionally, a pricing analysis conducted by the company itself
carries relatively little weight compared to that done by an independent
organization.
When a company is audited by the IRS, a different set of problems
is faced than at the planning stage. The company is generally
unprepared for the audit and not sure how to react. It doesn’t
know what role, if any, the accounting firm should play; it doesn’t
know whether it should retain outside legal help, and, how much
authority it should give to the lawyers.
JurEcon, Inc. is capable, expert and experienced in solving
these challenging mutidisciplinary problems.Since 1991, JurEcon
Transfer Pricing Consulting Group, a division of JurEcon Inc.
has completed numerous transfer pricing studies and expert testimony
for clients worldwide.
